In 1933 when prohibition died liquors of all types could
once again be purchased legally. Weeks after the
demise of the no drinking law, Turk Allison opened
Turk’s Inn in Nunica, Michigan. Now is one of the
oldest eateries in the area and most likely one of the
oldest businesses in Ottawa County. Although Turk
hasn’t owned the restaurant for many years the
nickname Turk’s has stuck with it.

It’s current owners, Frances and Roger Holmes have now owned it for over 25
years. Turk’s still remains in the original building and decorated with the same
original wood carvings as it has for 75 years. We hope you enjoy your Turk’s
